Feb-22-2010 By Dylan Sabot

Most people will realize right away that Bowie knives are not airplane-friendly items. There are very strict prohibitions on weapons being carried on planes at present. Even before the implementation of those restrictions, there would be almost no way that an individual would be allowed aboard an airplane with a Bowie hanging off their belt. A Brief History Of Tupperware

Feb-16-2010 By Mary Glenn

When Earl Tupper was a young man he often dreamed of becoming a famous inventor and multimillionaire. The realization of those dreams began in earnest in 1946 when he introduced his first Tupperware product to the world. This was the ‘wonder bowl, ‘ a plastic container which ‘burped’ and created an airtight seal when the lid was put on. By the early 1950’s his company benefited from explosive demand for its products and in 1958 he sold his company for sixteen million dollars, divorced his wife, and bought an island in Central America. He had fulfilled his dreams. Continue reading

Many live in a neighborhood that may be electronically dependent. Mp3s, iphones, mini portable tv’s, notebooks, and so on. I could continue a long time concerning all of the electrical devices, we use every waking moment, but you know what you use, and what you sense you can’t live without. We are easily connected to family, buddies, social networks, business associates, and we do this through our cell phones, laptops and so forth. Now, stop and think the way you would feel if something happened, and you find that you’ll be without all of those things for 21 days. This happened to me in 2004 when hurricane Ivan knocked out power-lines in addition to destroying homes, and in general, a lot of people lives. I may never forget that day that Ivan made landfall, nor the days that followed. I had been ill prepared, especially since I am not originally from the southern region so hurricanes were only something I watched on television. It really is nothing, yet everything like you observe on television. Needless to say I am now more prepared for such emergencies, and have peace of mind about living somewhat normally even during an emergency situation, since I purchased my portable propane generator. Tips on Buying Folding Campers

Nov-25-2008 By travel

Folding campers are classified as recreational vehicles that can be towed. The interior is made of fabric roofs and walls suitable for camping nights or short stays. They are also known as tent campers or popup campers. The exteriors are usually made of canvas or fiberglass. The best folding campers are spacious and fully-furnished. The best manufacturers are Palomino, Pennine, RV-n- motorhomes and Conway.

Folding campers are sleep-off-the-ground recreational vehicles. They are more luxurious than tents but cheaper than caravans. They are towable by car, truck or SUV. They weigh less and need no special side view mirrors. However they are not so perfect for windy and stormy weather.

The camping tent is one of man’s best achievements. Not only is it simple but effective shelter it also is portable and durable. Shelters of this sort (with supportive frames and a fabric) date back centuries. This earlier version of a tent was used by groups like the Romans, the Greeks, the Persians, and so on; as it was effective and could be dismantled and set up quickly.

Romans and other forces mainly included camping equipment in their travels at wartime. Their camping gear though was nothing compared to what ours is today. It usually involved a large sheet of fabric along with support frames. Although these frames were often times just made on the spot where they were.

Once they established a border and a ground to camp; they would… Continue reading

Aside from my music player and digital camera which are always must-haves in any of my trips, my sturdy Coleman coolers will definitely be on… Continue reading
