There are some insecticides that you can use to treat a bed bug infestation. If you use a insecticide dust you will need to make sure that it is the type that you can leave on the mattress or you need to know how to dispose of it properly.

The spray and bed bug kits are also nice. The kits usually have covers, powders, and sprays depending on the surface you are treating. In order to treat bed bugs you need to treat the area around the bed as well. Similar to fleas you will have to treat everywhere that they might be.

Using a combination of different products or a kit is the best way to treat bed bugs. Try covering your mattress, treating floors and baseboards, and then dusting any carpet with the powder. Bed bugs are very annoying and very hard to get rid of. It takes several treatments and at least six to eighteen months to get rid of them completely.

If you are using a cover make sure to dust under the cover but not spray it. If you are using just spray with the cover make sure that you allow the liquid to dry before covering. When treating bed bugs remember to use common sense with any of the treatments. Bed bug treatment does not have to be difficult.
