Visiting the Disney Water Parks - Cheaper Ways to Do It
Our family loves to visit the water parks In Orlando Florida - our favourites are the Disney ones, Typhoon Lagoon the best due to the Crush “n” Gusher water roller coaster, closely followed by Blizzard Beach. If you due to visit or are planning a visit soon you may know the cost of the holiday can soon increase quickly when there are a number of parks to visit. Here are our top tips to assist keep the costs down which still having a fabulous time.
Parking is free at the water parks.
Tickets - The best value ticket for your stay which includes water parks is to by a Disney Pass and then upgrade for around $50 to include a number of visits to either of the Disney Parks. The price for a 1 day ticket on its own is around $40 - so these multiple tickets offer fantastic value.
If you are not visiting any of the other main Disney Theme Parks why not opt for an annual pass. These cost around $99 so as long as your visit more than 3 times during your stay then this is the cheaper option.
Wear as little as possible when you go into the park e.g. your swim suit, water shoes and a wrap or shorts - in this way you will only need to rent one small locker just for valuables and keys.
Buy an unlimited use drinks cup from the park on your first day - You pay once and then can get unlimited top ups throughout the day. Remember to take the cup back on subsequent visits and you just buy a cheaper sticker for that day and use the same cup.
Most parks allow you to take a cool box or bag in with water or light snacks. You may be cooler in the water however there is a lot of walking and climbing - it’s important to keep hydrated and your energy levles high.
Take towels with you for all the family - cheaper than renting and easy if you are staying a vacation rental home in the Orlando area. If you are staying in a hotel this may not be possible.
Take suntan lotion and hats with you. There are many shops at the parks but the prices are higher than buying elsewhere outside the parks.
Remember to take disposable waterproof camera with you - the parks do take photos of you on the main rides however the prices do add up.
You will find when you have been in the heat for a long time - that you are very thirsty when you get back to the car. Remember to take some frozen water bottles with you in a cool box in the car. They will be great for the trip home.
