International Air Travel Deals - Avoid the High Cost
Every day you are inundated with new information about travel. Where to get the best prices, who has the best deals; packages left right and sides ways. But when it comes to international air travel deals, how do you know for sure you are really getting the best price?
Thankfully, the internet has truly made finding the best deals in air travel, be it local or international, simple.
To start, go to travel comparison websites. This makes it quick and easy to find out prices on all of the discount travel websites. They compare each website back to back to see which offers the best deal.
However, keep in mind that these websites may not be your best option for international flights. So what can you do?
First, you can try a travel agent. Although you are better off using a booking website for U.S. flights, for international fares a travel agent may be privy to information on bargains you would not otherwise find, and will be able to assist you in working within your budget. Try to find a destination specialist when looking for international air travel deals. They will negotiate with airlines on restricted routes and help you find the best times for your flight.
Of course, you should still do your research before you take this option. Make sure you are going to a fully legitimate agent so as to avoid being scammed with phony tickets.
Another option is to check airlines’ websites. The airline you are traveling with may, in fact, be cheaper than the discount websites.
Still not finding just the right price? Well, if you are particularly adventurous, there is another option. You could become a courier. Sounds scary, doesn’t it? Actually, it is quite common. You see, a courier will fill a seat that a company has purchased so as to send goods or important documents. These companies will resell their tickets at hugely discounted prices to guarantee quick transportation of these items and to make sure they get where they need to be.
These are the lowest international air travel deals, coming in at about a 50% discount or more. The drawback, though, is that travel times can be very unpredictable.
In the end, when it comes to flying–whether in the U.S. or throughout the world–there are a few golden rules that will make the whole experience quicker, easier and cheaper:
Start early! The longer in advance you start searching for a flight, the better. Alternatively, you can try for last minute tickets, which can also be quite inexpensive. However, for international flights, this might be a bit iffy.
Consider alternative airports. Big city flights often cost a good deal more than their more rural neighbors.
Finally, remember that prices change from a day to day basis. So the more flexible you are, the better.
